YEATESVILLE -- North Duplin fought back from an early deficit and held on to beat Northside 32-31 on Monday evening.
Trailing 16-0 after one quarter, the Rebels' offense came alive for two scores in the second period. Akeem Cox capped the second touchdown with a 12-yard plunge.
Cox finished with 203 yards and three touchdowns rushing.
Quarterback Marcus Kornegay put the Rebels ahead with a 2-yard run in the third quarter. He completed 13 of 23 passes for 154 yards, including a first-quarter scoring strike to Quentin Graham.
