MOUNT OLIVE -- Alex Blandin notched the golden goal 9 minutes into the first overtime, and previously-winless Francis Marion (S.C.) upended Mount Olive, 2-1, at Amon Field on Wednesday evening.

The Trojans, who have lost four straight one-goal decisions, grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute. Scott Mitchell's shot was deflected by FMU goalie Clark Richeson and Vieux Sarr captured the rebound, but also had his shot turned away by Richeson.

Mitchell picked up the deflection and scored from 10 yards out.

Francis Marion (1-5-1 overall) recorded the equalizer in the 54th minute.

Mount Olive (1-5-1) missed two shot attempts in the overtime period before Blandin converted the game-clinching goal. The Trojans owned a 10-9 edge in shots and keeper Brad Newman logged five saves.
