RALEIGH -- North Raleigh Christian triumphed at No. 2 doubles and handed previously-unbeaten Wayne Country Day a 5-4, non-conference loss on Thursday afternoon.
"Great effort ... nice to see the girls rise up to the challenge," Chargers head coach Joann Logan said. "It definitely will help to make us stronger to play that caliber of team."
Jennifer Potts and Amy Willman each emerged victorious in singles for Wayne Country Day. The tandems of Gianna Democko-Taylor Willman and McDonald-Margaux Pope prevailed in doubles.
Wayne Country Day (4-1 overall) plays host to Lawrence Academy on Monday.
