Barbara Arntsen —
former City government and investigative reporter

Barbara Arntsen left a business career to become a journalist. She was a reporter for the Daily Dispatch at Henderson before joining the News-Argus. Her specialty was city government and investigative reporting, for which she has won awards from the North Carolina Press Association.

She left the News-Argus in August of 2005.
