David Williams —
Former Sports editor

David Williams left a career in retail management to become a sportswriter in 1994. He became sports editor of the News-Argus in 1999. He won a regional award for prep sports coverage from the N.C. High School Athletic Association in 1997.

David Williams no longer works for the News-Argus, he left at the end of 2004 to work at the Wayne-Wilson News Leader.
