Jim Meachen —
Former Executive news editor

Car buff Jim Meachen was the executive news editor of the News-Argus. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University. He started his career as a weekend beat reporter and part-time sports reporter for the News-Argus while serving in the Air Force. After leaving the Air Force he was named Sunday news and sports editor. Meachen has won North Carolina Press Association awards for sports writing.

Meachen retired from the Goldsboro News-Argus in January of 2005.
