Matthew Whittle is a graduate of The University of Virginia. He has worked for The Page News & Courier in Luray, Va., and at The Daily Southerner in Tarboro, N.C.

Since coming to the News-Argus, he has covered the Duplin and Wayne county beats, as well as local, state and national politics. He currently is the assistant news editor.
