Richard Barkley, Shallotte

Richard “Blair” Barkley, 56 of Shallotte, N.C., passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday October 5th at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Blair was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He had a successful career as a contractor for 30+ years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, Nascar, playing cards, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his mother, Pat Trotter of Holden Beach; father, Freddie Barkley (Elaine) of Marion, S.C.; Partner, Tricia Watch of Shallotte; daughter, Alexis Douglas (Kodie) of Evergreen; son, Richard Barkley (Ashley) of Leland; son, Terry Ramsey (Judy) of Leland; sister, Traci Quinlan (Joe) of Myrtle Beach; brother, Charles Trotter, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Collin Douglas, AJ and Aubrey Barkley; nephews, Joey and Alex Quinlan; and niece Sarah Quinlan. A celebration of life will be Sunday, October 16, at 2 p.m. in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive. Shallotte, N.C.
