Richard “Blair” Barkley, 56 of Shallotte, N.C., passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday October 5th at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Blair was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He had a successful career as a contractor for 30+ years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, Nascar, playing cards, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his mother, Pat Trotter of Holden Beach; father, Freddie Barkley (Elaine) of Marion, S.C.; Partner, Tricia Watch of Shallotte; daughter, Alexis Douglas (Kodie) of Evergreen; son, Richard Barkley (Ashley) of Leland; son, Terry Ramsey (Judy) of Leland; sister, Traci Quinlan (Joe) of Myrtle Beach; brother, Charles Trotter, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Collin Douglas, AJ and Aubrey Barkley; nephews, Joey and Alex Quinlan; and niece Sarah Quinlan. A celebration of life will be Sunday, October 16, at 2 p.m. in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive. Shallotte, N.C. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
