Virgil Moseley Hill Jr., 77 of Shallotte died Thursday April 6, 2023 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. Mr. Hill was born in Kinston, N.C. on May 24, 1945 and was the son of the late Virgil Moseley Hill Sr. and Ruth Ketchum Hill. He was preceded in death by his daughter in-law, Jennifer Hill, a brother in-law, Jesse Wethington and a nephew Mickey Wethington. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Hill retired from Heilig Meyers Furniture following many years in retail sales. He loved his country and was an avid N.C. Tarheel fan. He attended Calvary Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Gloria Hill; a son, Bryan Hill of Youngsville, N.C.; grandchildren, Hunter Hill, Maggie Hill and Allison Lewis; a sister, Velvaleigh Duncan of Shallotte; brother in-law, Robert Wethington(Becky) of Havelock, N.C., sister in-law, Patti Wethington of Deep Run, N.C.; nieces, Ahna Stallings, Leigh Ann Graham; nephews, J. Scott Stallings, Jesse Wethington, Michael Wethington, Ricky Wethington and Kevin Wethington.Funeral services were held April 8,at the Lou White Memorial Chapel of White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Dr., Shallotte with Reverend Joe Needham officiating.Interment will follow next week at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, N.C.The family will accept flowers or you may direct memorials to the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, N.C., 28422.You may offer online condolences at www.shallottefunerals.com White Funeral and Cremation Service, Shallotte Chapel
