The Brunswick Community College (BCC) Foundation announced the opening of golfer registration and sponsorship opportunities for Brunswick Community College’s 11th Annual Dolphins Athletics Golf Tournament.
The annual tournament supports BCC student-athletes and the Dolphins athletic programs while participants enjoy a day of golf, lunch and prizes at Ocean Ridge Plantation.
The tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at Ocean Ridge Plantation’s Panther’s Run course.
Event proceeds directly benefit BCC’s athletic department, which supports over 100 student-athletes participating in programs that include baseball, softball and men and women’s basketball.
“Our goal is to aid, strengthen and prepare our student-athletes to excel in the classroom as well as in their sport by providing scholarships and equipment needed to compete on the collegiate level,” BCC Foundation Executive Director Elizabeth Wassum said.
BCC student-athletes are competitive on the playing fields, courts and in the classroom, Wassum added.
In 2021-2022, BCC athletes boasted 18 Region 10 All-Academic Team Members (GPA ≥3.00), seven NJCAA All-Academic 3rd Team Members (GPA 3.60 — 3.79), and two NJCAA All-American 1st Team Members (GPA 4.00).
Student-athletes balance study hall and community service hours along with their practice and game schedules.
Individual golfer, foursomes and sponsorship registrations are available. Tournament fees are $100 per golfer or $450 for a foursome. A tee sponsorship includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and tip, range balls, the awards luncheon and a door prize ticket.
