Results for July 19 at Rivers Edge. Winner of the Stableford challenge was Dan LaDore (+4.5). Tied for second place were Mel Romestan and John Rundle (+3.5). Closest to the pin on No. 5 was Mel Romestan (8 feet, 8 inches). Closest to the pin on No. 12 was Lionel Deitch (2 feet). This week’s Crusher and Crying Towel Award went to Mike Schaefer (-6).
Carolina Shores MGA
Results for July 22 at Carolina Shores. Teams counted 1 net score on par 5s, 2 nets on par 4s and 3 nets on par 3s. Crow Creek WGA
Results of the annual member/member tournament on July 19 at Crow Creek. The format included six holes each of better-ball, scramble and alternate shot. Flight 1: Low gross was Terri Crowley and Kim Gibson; second was Marcia Werner and Beverly Farmarco. Low net was Helene Hamilton and Angela Callahan; second was Donna Moetsch and Joan Zimmerman. Flight 2: Low gross was Terry Hahn and Laura McCarthy; second was Anna Merritt and Judy Zaenglein. Low net was Robin Sharp and Beth Grotz; second was Darlene Restivo and Jan Bartlett. Fight 3: Low gross was Kathy Shaffer and Marsha Krug on a match of cards over Carol Hickey and Lani Woolcott. Low net was Sue Nordberg and Sue Pennell; second was Dianne O’Connell and Gail O’Donnell.
Ladies of The Links
The Ladies of The Links at Brick Landing played their monthly ACE competition on July 21 with 16 players. July Ace winner was Carol Fredericks. Flight 1: Nancy Kumlin (73), Kitty Heffernan (74), Chris Madden (80) and Cris Falls (80). Flight 2: Lynne Berkowsky (71), Carol Ellis (75), Sharon Brown (77) and Sharon Deutsch (77). Flight 3: Carol Fredericks (70), Mary Tacea (79), Elsa Bonstein (82). Carol Ellis made a chip-in birdie on No. 2; Karen Chester carded a birdie on No. 2 and chip-ins were made by Mary Tacea on No. 16 and Sharon Brown on No. 4
Results for July 18 at Meadowlands. Due to rain, only 7 holes were played. Team low gross winners were Barb Mullins, Carol Gyscek and Marianne Schmidt (123).
Ocean Ridge LGA
Results for Ocean Ridge ladies league July 18 on Panther’s Run. Due to rain, only 15 holes were completed. Low gross was Sharon Benson (89), low net was Maureen Craik (77). Birdies were carded by Sue Carano on No. 2, Maureen Craik on No. 6 and Sharon Giblin on No. 18.
Results for July 20 on Panther’s Run. Game was Four Corners. Teams select 2 net scores on each hole except Nos. 1, 9, 10 and 18, which are excluded. Winning teams were Sue Carano, Margie Oehmke, Colleen Plebanek, Diane Wright (95); Sharon Benson, Chris Macke, Jan Schneider, Sheree Seben (98); Anita Andersch, Sue Carano (BD), Patti Elsen, Myong Jensen (99). Sue Carano was low net (68) and low gross (86). Carano also made a chip-in birdie on No. 5 and a birdie on No. 6. Sharon Benson birdied No. 12. Chip-ins were made by Sue Kane and Chris Macke on No. 12, and Anita Andersch and Patti Elsen on No. 18.
Sea Trail LGA
The Sea Trail ladies played a two-day member/member tournament last week on the Jones and Maples courses. Four different games were played during the event. Overall winners were Pam Peters and Peg Frankford (173); second place was Paula Higgins and Kathi Moore (174.25). On the Jones course, winners of the Captain’s Choice format were Carolyn Hall and Linda Miller (26.75), besting Diane Carcich and Joan Plotz on a match of cards; winners of the net ball aggregate format were Paula Jones and Micki Vollmer (73); second was Pat Gooding and Deb Isley (73.5). On the Maples course, winners of the better net ball format were Suzanne Nettleton and Deb Isley (31), followed by Georgia Brockway and Karen Rastocky (33); winners of the modified alternate shot format were Kathy Blaine and Marti Kennedy (31.25), followed by Mary Lou Miller and Debbie Johnson (31.5). On the Jones course, birdies were carded by Linda Barber, Pam Fisher, Joan Plotz and Pat Sutton on No. 13, and Pat Gooding on No. 14; chip-ins were made by Cheryl Campbell on No. 11 and Pat Sutton on No. 13. On the Maples course, birdies were carded by Carolyn Bradley and Deb Isley on No. 3; Pam Fisher had a chip-in on No. 6.
