Homemade quilts are a good way to keep warm during the winter.

But part of the fun of having one is making your very own quilt, something you can pass down to future generations. It also gives you something to do when the weather keeps you inside.

To help you do just this, the Gov. Charles B. Aycock Birthplace in Fremont will have a quilting worshop. It will be held six consecutive Saturdays from Jan. 26 through March 2. Instructors will teach modern techniques for this time-honored craft.

The cost is $35 plus tax. Space is limited.

Pre-registration is required by calling 919-242-5581 or at aycock@ncdcr.gov.
