Another month is coming to a close, and December will be here before we know it!

While I’m not nearly ready for Christmas, there is one annual holiday event that I look forward to every fall: Christmas in the Forest.

Each year about this time, St. Francis Episcopal Church holds this wonderful craft fair, and this year is sure to be extra special, as they are celebrating the 40th year of this fun time.

Christmas in the Forest has great handcrafted fine arts and crafts, lots of homemade baked goods and the area’s favorite: St. Francis’ famous soup, sausage rolls and delicious baked goods.

You can enjoy shopping the many talented vendors and have lunch there. If you want to take out, fresh or frozen soup is available to go.

This year’s Christmas in the Forest will be held Friday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. St. Francis is located at 503 Forest Hill Drive.

This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Speaking of October ending, Halloween is only three days away!

As I type this, I have not decorated much at all this year. I’m not sure where the time has gone; I feel like it’s just October 1st!

I’ll do better next year. Don’t worry — I’ll be prepared to hand out candy by Wednesday!

I’ve decided that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We get all of the family, friends and good food and don’t have the stress of buying gifts for everyone.

Don’t get me wrong; I still love, love, love Christmas, but I’ve realized that what I love the most has nothing to do with the presents.

What’s your favorite holiday?

Have a great week, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
