• Two new exhibits open at the Arts Council of Wayne County at 6 p.m. “A Passion for Painting, A Retrospective by Robert Rigsby” is a display of the paintings of Rigsby, a local veterinarian, who died last year. “Texas Wilds” features the works of Durham artist Brian Phillips, who was trained in watercolor at the University of North Texas. • The Brotherhood church ministry of Mount Nelson Missionary Baptist Church, 206 W. Main St., Eureka, will have a free senior car clinic 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will check vehicle fluids and tire pressure. For more information, call 919-242-5996.

• The public is invited to a free family event at the Goldsboro Family YMCA, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be a rock wall, inflatables, swimming, games, tours and fitness classes plus a summer camp preview and membership promotions. Community vendors will also be on site, as well as free eye exams and snacks. The event will be held rain or shine.
