News-Argus price increase
The single-copy price of the Goldsboro News-Argus is going to $2 from $1.50 on Sundays. The daily newspaper is moving to $1.
This is the first retail price increase of the newspaper in more than a decade.
“We value our readers old and new,” said News-Argus Publisher John McClure. “While we have been able to maintain our rates for approximately the past 11 years on single copy, we are long overdue to raise our single-copy rates.
“This increase puts us in line with other newspapers statewide and will allow us to continue to bring you the best in local news coverage with the award-winning quality you have grown to expect. Although any increase comes with an initial ‘sticker shock,’ home delivery subscribers will not see any immediate increase.”
The change starts Sunday, May 26, with the daily increase to $1 beginning the next day.
