Community calendar

Goldsboro Golden K Kiwanis Club will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday in Daniels Chapel fellowship hall. The program will feature senior programs of Wayne Community College by Renita Dawson, WCC vice president of workforce continuing education services and community engagement, and Lisa Newkirk, WCC coordinator, occupational extension/leisure and recreation.

FRIENDS OF COMPASSIONThe Friends of Compassion will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at Jay’s Kitchen, 330 N. Spence Ave. The meeting is open to the public and especially parents, grandparents and siblings who have lost loved ones. Contact Connie Brown at 919-920-9732 for more information.

USHERS ANNIVERSARY

The OFBC Southern Ushers will hold its anniversary Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at White Oak Grove OFWB Church, 2261 Big Daddy’s Road. Nora Lane Lucas will be the event’s guest speaker.
