Fall is the perfect time to plant bulbs in the garden to have them bloom in the spring.

The Wayne County Cooperative Extension Service will have a variety of bulbs during its 2021 fall bulb fundraiser.

There will be 16 different kinds of bulbs, including anemone blanda mixed, crocus species mixed, daffodil yellow trumpet, glory of the snow, grape hyacinth, peony red, Siberian iris blue and amaryllis apple blossom.

Once grown, the plants will range in height from 4 to 36 inches. They are priced at $7.50 and $15.

To order bulbs, download the form at wayne.ces.ncsu.edu, fill it out, and take a check or cash to the Cooperative Extension office at the Maxwell Center on Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro. Or mail the form and payment to Wayne County Extension Bulb Sale, Attn: Greta Reese, 3114B Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The deadline for ordering is Oct. 15.

Bulbs will be available for pickup Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension office.

Funds will be used for upkeep and expansion of the Wayne County Extension demonstration gardens behind the Maxwell Center and adjacent to the Farm Credit Farmers Market.
