Biting into a kosher dill spear from Mt. Olive Pickle Co. might be one of the “coolest” things you could ever do.
It’s certainly a contender. Mt. Olive Kosher Dill Pickle Spears are one of the NC Chamber’s 68 nominees in its annual “Coolest Thing Made in NC” online contest.
“Congratulations to Mt. Olive Pickles for making the list of 2021 ‘Coolest Thing’ nominations,” Gary Salamido, NC Chamber president and CEO, said in an online statement. “Made in NC products like Mt. Olive Kosher Dill Spears reflect the wonderful variety and top quality of our manufacturers’ work across our great state.”
The NC Chamber announced the nominees Aug. 20. The public will decide the winner. To vote in the contest, visit coolestthingmadeinnc.com.
Fifteen semifinalists will be announced Thursday. The field of candidates narrows with each round of voting. The winning product will be announced on Oct. 1, National Manufacturing Day.
Mt. Olive Pickle Co. was among 72 nominees when the NC Chamber launched its “Coolest Thing Made in NC” contest in 2020. That year, Mt. Olive Pickle Co. advanced to place among 15 semifinalists. The winner in 2020 was Thomas Built Buses for its Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley electric school bus.
The folks at Mt. Olive Pickle Co. welcomed the chance to compete again in the contest’s second year.
“We’re grateful for that,” said Lynn Williams, public relations manager for Mt. Olive Pickle Co. “This is something really fun. We do look forward to it.”
The winning company and product will receive a trophy and will be featured in NC Chamber and Business North Carolina publications, podcasts, social and digital media, and other statewide publicity efforts.
