“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” — James 1:5 (NIV)
I have been sleeping at night with a CPAP machine due to having sleep apnea for a few years now. The machine requires attention regularly to keep it clean and one of those things is keeping the filter replaced. I recently received new filters and thought that I put them in a place that I would just walk to when I needed one and they would be there. But it didn’t happen exactly the way I planned. You know the old saying that as you grow older you tend to misplace things. Well, I started that habit way before getting older. But anyway, I thought I put them in the bathroom cabinet with the other CPAP supplies. I took everything out of that cabinet three times and that was a job, but I was determined they were there. After the third time, I finally decided that they just permanently disappeared in this house, and I was not going to get down there and empty that cabinet out a fourth time. Fortunately, I had one left that would last a couple more days so I ordered a package from our old favorite Amazon, which should be here soon. I just can’t believe that something like that can just disappear. I bet you they will turn up one day in the oddest place that you could imagine with me wondering why in the world did I put them there, oh well.
After I completed my third round of looking for those filters, I also looked in many other places. Then, I started thinking of the number of times I have failed God but each time He has forgiven me and accepted me back with love and open arms. He will do the same for you. So, if you have been searching for something for three times or more and can’t seem to find what you are looking for, let me just tell you that God is still there. All you have to do is look one more time and I bet you will find Him there ready and waiting to pour His grace and love into your soul. I hope that you have a blessed week, and my prayer will be that you will open your cabinet just one more time and find what you are looking for. It’s there just waiting.
PrayerDear God, please give me strength when I am weak, love when I feel forsaken, courage when I am afraid, wisdom when I feel foolish, comfort when I am alone, hope when I feel rejected, and peace during the hard times, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
