Larceny of motor vehicle

Goldsboro police are searching for a stolen Pontiac Grand Am, according to reports.

Police responded to a vehicle larceny on North Berkeley Boulevard around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a Goldsboro Police Department incident report. David Edwards Williams, of East Holly Street, reported someone took his white 2004 Pontiac Grand Am from the parking lot while it was running.

Williams left his vehicle running in the parking lot and went to play bingo, the report reads. The vehicle is valued at about $5,500, according to the report.

Shooting into occupied dwelling

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on Woodside Circle after a resident reported an unknown person shot into his house.

Johnnie Loftin, 55, of Woodside Circle, told deputies he was sitting in his living room watching TV when he heard a noise and began look around on Thursday just after 10 p.m., according to a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office incident report. Loftin found a hole and a “projectile” on the floor behind his chair and realized the projectile came through his wall and struck the chair he was sitting in.

Loftin called deputies the following day and said he did not call law enforcement when the incident happened because he was intoxicated, the report reads. Deputies placed the found projectile into evidence.

Possession of cocaine

Police charged a Goldsboro man with possession of cocaine after detaining him on outstanding warrants, according to police reports.

Goldsboro police arrested and charged Marquise Christopher Mikel Johnson, 29, of Fussell Street, with one count of possession of cocaine, one count of possession of a firearm by felon, one count of simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. He was booked at the Wayne County jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

A bail bondsman called police on Friday around 7:30 p.m. and reported Johnson was inside Snack and Cue and had several orders for his arrest, according to a Goldsboro Police Department incident report. Responding officers detained Johnson, who was entering his vehicle when police arrived on scene.

While detaining Johnson, police found him in possession of a bag with “green vegetable matter” and a bag of white powder, the report reads. Police seized around 1.5 grams of cocaine, according to the report.

Police arrested Johnson and took him to the Wayne County magistrate’s office, where he was charged.
