State and some local government offices will be closed Friday in observance of Easter.

Federal offices, banks and post offices do not observe the holiday.

Wayne County government offices will be closed Friday and will reopen on Monday, April 22, for normal business hours.

All branches of the Wayne County Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday. Library branches will be open on Monday for normal business hours.

The Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center will be closed Friday and Saturday. The senior center will be open Monday for normal business hours.

The Wayne County landfill and convenience centers will be closed Friday. The landfill and convenience centers will reopen Saturday for normal business hours.

Wayne County Public Schools will also be closed Friday for the holiday and will be on spring break through April 26.

Wayne Community College will be closed Friday and on Monday, April 22.

Spring break for students and faculty is April 23 to 26, but the college will be open and staff will be on duty for their normal schedules from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 23 through April 25 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 26.

Goldsboro city offices will be closed Friday. Trash routes scheduled Friday will be serviced on Wednesday, April 17.

Mount Olive town offices will be closed on Friday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday. The Recyclable Center will also be closed on Friday but will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Yard waste pickup will be on a regular schedule for Monday and Tuesday. However, Thursday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday and Friday’s route will be picked up on Thursday during the week of April 15 to 19.

Household garbage pickup will be as follows: Thursday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday, and Friday’s route will be picked up on Thursday.

Town halls in Walnut Creek and Pikeville will be closed Friday.

Fremont Town Hall will be closed Monday, April 22. Garbage pickup will not be affected by the closing.
