A two-car wreck just outside Wayne County sent five people to the hospital, officials say.
Two people traveling west in a white truck on Fort Run Road, Greene County, wrecked when a Honda Pilot pulled out in front of them at an intersection at Bull Head Road around 2:40 p.m. Saturday, according to troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The wreck was 2 miles outside Wayne County.
The driver and two passengers in the Honda Pilot as well as the driver and one passenger in the truck were all taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
Troopers have not released names of those injured.
Fort Run volunteer firefighters, Greene County sheriff’s deputies and state troopers were on the scene. Oncoming traffic was redirected for an hour and a half.
