TEA WITH THE QUEEN

The Wayne County Museum will have a tea with the queen fundraiser 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 16. It will feature the past and present Miss Goldsboros and their court. There will be refreshments, prizes, entertainment and princesses. Those attending are encouraged to wear party attire and hats. There will be a dressed to the tea contest. KIWANIS TO MEET

Goldsboro Golden K Kiwanis Club will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday in Daniels Chapel fellowship hall. Speaker will be Jimmy Gentry, president of the North Carolina State Grange.

FALL HOWLIDAY MARKET

The Arts Council of Wayne County will have a Fall Howliday Market from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 16 at 201 S. Center St. There will be local vendors and food trucks on site. Those attending can also help paint a miniature fall-themed mural for downtown. Information: 919-736-3300.

NATIONAL LITERACY DAY

The David Williams Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will celebrate National Family Literacy Day Nov. 1. The mayor and county commissioners will sign proclamations. The DAR is encouraging families to celebrate the event at home with their children, as well as encouraging teachers to celebrate in their classrooms.

BOARD OF HEALTH

The Wayne County Board of Health will meet 12:15 p.m. Oct. 13 in the third-floor conference room in the health department, 301 N. Herman St. New employees will be introduced and the health director and finance reports will be given.
