The Maxwell Center has received a ConventionSouth Readers’ Choice Award as a top meeting site in the South for the fourth year in a row.
The Maxwell Center, on Wayne Memorial Drive, is one of 415 locations to be nationally recognized with the honor out of 40,000 meeting destinations, facilities and hotels nominated for the award, county officials said.
James Wade Jr., Maxwell Center general manager, said the center has remained successful while navigating through the challenges of the pandemic.
“It is an honor to win a ConventionSouth Readers’ Choice Award for the fourth consecutive year,” Wade said.
“With COVID-19 still presenting ongoing challenges in the meeting, conference, and convention business, we are extremely proud to be helping our clients host their activities to the best of our ability. We are working with everyone to keep our clients and their guests safe, socially distanced, and satisfied with their events.”
Ashleigh Osborne, ConventionSouth magazine associate publisher, said she was not surprised that readers and fans who voted on the best meeting sites in the South picked the Maxwell Center.
“The value in receiving this prestigious recognition is that it comes from the United States’ top meeting professionals who hold events in the South,” Osborne said. “These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have contributed in determining that The Maxwell Center indeed displays the commitment to professionalism, creativity, and service that they require.”
Celebrating almost 40 years as a leading meeting planning resource, ConventionSouth magazine, based in Gulf Shores, Alabama, is distributed to more than 18,000 meeting professionals across the country who book meetings in the South.
