The University of Mount Olive will hold its annual fall plant sale Friday.
Mums will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for $5 each. The plant sale will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the UMO greenhouse at the corner of Herring and Bert Martin Street in Mount Olive.
The mums were planted at Kornegay Student Farm back in June, said Rhonda Jessup, UMO director of public relations. They are available in Jacqueline orange, fusion, padre yellow and camina red.
In addition to mums, the sale will also feature a variety of blackberry plants for $6 each.
Proceeds from the sale will be used for the university’s agriculture programs, farm and greenhouse, said Jason Davis, UMO assistant dean of the School of Agriculture and Biological Sciences.
“Our purpose is to train future leaders, teachers and growers, who produce these seasonal crops,” he said.
Quantities are limited, and no preorders will be taken.
