United Way of Wayne County will offer a Nonprofit Professional Development Series to nonprofit employees and volunteers starting this month.
Four training sessions will be offered at no cost, with a boxed lunch provided at each session.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for United Way to help strengthen our local nonprofit community,” said Sherry Archibald, United Way of Wayne County executive director.
“Wonderful work is being done right here in Wayne County, and these trainings will improve our nonprofits’ ability to meet their mission and serve Wayne County in a stronger way.”
The four training sessions are:
• July 27, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Design by Design, 207 E. Walnut St. Instructor will be Vanessa Spiron with Spiron Consulting. Topic will be “Building Leadership Capacity.”
• Aug. 31, 9 to 9:30 a.m., at the Maxwell Center, 3114 Wayne Memorial Drive. Instructor will be Vanessa Spiron with Spiron Consulting. Topic will be “Engaging Potential Volunteers.”
• Sept. 28, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Design by Design. Instructor will be Rebecca Whittle, professional and recruitment consultant. Topic will be “Hiring a Top Notch Staff: Effective and Efficient Hiring Basics.”
• Oct. 26, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Design by Design. Instructor will be Dustin Bannister, with the University of Mount Olive. Topic will be “Conflict Resolution in the Workplace.”
