A 21-year-old Goldsboro woman was arrested Thursday by Goldsboro police on robbery charges related to an armed robbery reported on Maple Street in July.
Aukwanzza Lemondria Hocutt, of Hugh Street, was arrested at 4 p.m., without incident, at 900 Hugh St., and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, said LaToya Henry, Goldsboro public information officer.
Goldsboro police investigated a reported robbery that took place in the 1100 block of Maple Street at 1:30 a.m. on July 16, Henry said.
On July 16, a male victim was on a date with a female who directed him to a secluded area on Maple Street, according to police. While the two were parked, two males approached the vehicle and ordered the male victim at gunpoint to exit the vehicle, according to police.
The victim was assaulted and forced to send money to his date through the Cash App. The suspects also took property from the victim before leaving the scene of the crime, police said.
An investigation by the GPD Criminal Investigations Division resulted in police securing an arrest warrant for Hocutt, who was arrested by the GPD Housing Unit and Selective Enforcement Unit.
Hocutt was booked in the Wayne County jail under a $75,000 bond.
Police are continuing to investigate the case, with additional arrests possible.
