A man is in serious but stable condition at Vidant Medical Center today after someone shot him early this morning.

A police report said someone shot the 28-year-old man in the Grand at Day Circle housing projects just after midnight.

The man was then taken to Wayne UNC Health Care in a personal car and not by an ambulance.

Sgt. Bryant Canady with the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau said the man sustained one gunshot wound.

Police do not have a description of the person who shot the man.
