MOUNT OLIVE — The University of Mount Olive will hold its annual Martin Lecture at 7 p.m. April 24 in the Southern Bank Auditorium in the Raper Building.

Dr. Kenneth J. Lohmann, the Charles P. Postelle Jr. distinguished professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is the guest speaker.

His lab studies the behavior, sensory biology, physiology and conservation of marine animals such as sea turtles, lobsters and fish.

The Lorelle F. Martin Lecture was established in 1993 by Dr. E. Lee Glover as an annual tribute to his former professor, Lorelle F. Martin.

Martin served for 30 years as chair of the department of science and mathematics at Mount Olive College before retiring in 1987.
