A Greenville man was sent to the hospital after a one-vehicle crash just outside of Busco Beach.

N.C. Highway Patrol alleges that Jeffrey Troy Jones Jr., of Lewis Dudley Road, Greenville, was driving a black Dodge Ram around 64 mph in a 45 mph zone south on Bryan Boulevard around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday. Trooper Bennie Grady said Jones lost control of his vehicle while following a curve, drove off the road and crashed into a tree at around 43 mph.

Jones had spent the day at Busco Beach and ATV Park before leaving for home, Grady said. He was pulling a trailer carrying an ATV behind his truck when he wrecked. Jones was flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment of minor injuries, Grady said.

Troopers charged Jones with driving while impaired, driving left of center, driving while license suspended and driving without a seat belt, Grady said.
