It’s time for Wayne County residents to begin filling shoe boxes for needy children overseas.

Operation Christmas Child will collect the boxes Nov. 12 through 19 at Adamsville Baptist Church.

This year’s coordinator is Tom Seagraves.

Pamphlets with information on what to put in the shoe box and labels for the boxes are available at the church.

Boxes are available online or you can use a shoe box.

You can put fun toys, hygiene items and school supplies in the box. You should also include one bigger item such as a doll, soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal.

Do not include candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items, war-related items, seeds, food, liquids, lotions, medications, vitamins, breakable items, aerosol cans or glass containers.

You can include a personal note and photo in each box.

Also include a $9 donation to cover shipping and other costs.

Boxes can be prepared for various age groups and both boys and girls.
