A Goldsboro man was found suffering from life-threatening injuries after a weekend shooting.
Goldsboro police officers responded to an attempted first-degree murder around 8:55 p.m. Saturday at 1404 Mimosa St., said LaToya Henry, public information officer for the city of Goldsboro. Officers on the scene found Steven Belle Britt, 42, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services personnel took Britt to Wayne UNC Health Care, but he was later taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for further treatment, Henry said. Britt is in critical condition, she said.
Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Crime Scene Unit were also on scene, Henry said. The investigation is ongoing, she said.
