Wayne County sheriff’s deputies arrested and charged a second person after investigating statutory rape and incest allegations.

Officers arrested and charged Timothy Earl Darden, 39, of Randall Lane, with one felony count of child abuse-sexual act Friday. He was placed at the Wayne County jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

Goldsboro police officers identified Darden as a potential suspect in an investigation into statutory rape and incest allegations, said LaToya Henry, public information officer for the city of Goldsboro.

Officers opened the investigation on Jan. 12 after allegations that a juvenile victim was sexually abused by Lanettiyen Nakishette Darden, 42, of Goldsboro, Henry said.

Officers arrested and charged Lanettiyen Darden with one count of incest, one count of statutory rape of a child less than 15 years of age, one count of statutory sex offense with a child younger than 15 and one count of indecent liberties with a child on Feb. 13 as a result of the investigation. She was placed in the Wayne County jail under a $600,000 secured bond.
