Police arrested two Dudley men in connection to a homicide at a hotel off U.S. 70 in Goldsboro.
Goldsboro police charged Cameron C. Smith, 18, of Dudley, and Jaime E. Toledano, 20, of Dudley, each with one count of murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Both were booked at the Wayne County jail without bond.
A third suspect, Jose A. Roman, 18, of Dudley, is at large, said LaToya Henry, spokeswoman for the city of Goldsboro. Police consider him “armed and dangerous,” she said.
During an investigation into a fatal shooting Friday night at America’s Best Value Inn, 701 U.S. 70, police developed Smith, Toledano and Roman as suspects, Henry said.
When officers arrived at the hotel, they found a resident, 34-year-old Tishan Geigher, lying on the ground outside the door of Room 122 suffering a gunshot wound. Responding Wayne County emergency medical services personnel pronounced Geigher dead on scene.
Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted during the investigation, Henry said. Police obtained warrants on the three suspects developed during the investigation.
Agents with the ATF Task Force, sheriff’s deputies and Goldsboro investigators arrested Smith in the 100 block of Jill Street in Dudley around 7 p.m. Saturday, Henry said. His first court appearance is today.
Members of the sheriff’s office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team and patrol arrested Toledano at Grantham School Road near Suttontown Road around 1 a.m. Sunday, Henry said. His first court appearance is today.
