Daniel Robert McKinley, 90, 111 Daly Ave., Dudley, died Sunday in Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Duplin County to James and Eva Grantham McKinley.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Church of Christ, Mount Olive. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories a dedicated, beloved and loyal wife, Velma H. Mckinley; three daughters, Jean (Larry) Ward, Brenda (Donald) Wells and Velma “Joyce” (William) Forte; three brothers, Carlton (Julia) McKinley, Jesse F. (Burnette) McKinley and George C. (Cindy) McKinley; 11 grandchildren, Lisa (Bradley) Flowers, Angela (Keith) Molette, Tonya (Hillis) Haygood, Wilma Blackmore, Tyrone (Avonya) Cogdell, Brenadeen (Emmanuel) Barnett, Wesley Forte, Larry Ward Jr., Renard (Renee) Ward, Camilla Wells and Eric Wells Jr.; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and devoted friends.

Visitation Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.

Dr. Michael Yung-Hong Yeh, 87, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with his wife by his bedside.

A service of remembrance will be held at Cornerstone Church, 401 N. Oak Forest Road in Goldsboro, Thursday, Dec. 13, 3018, at 7 p.m.

The family will greet friends following the service.

Dr. Yeh was born in Taiwan Oct. 4, 1931, to the late Zhong Kun Yeh and Sun Min Yeh.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Fujiko Kimura Yeh; his son, Siegfried Yeh, M.D., of Goldsboro; two sisters, Ru Qin and You Mei; and two brothers, Yong Xuan and Yong Qing.

Dr. Yeh was preceded in death by two sisters, Ru Xue and Ru Ying, and three brothers Yong Yun, Yong Zuen and Yong Zhao.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Taiwan Provincial Cheng Kung University in 1955. He graduated from Technical College Darmstadt (Germany) in 1966. He received his master’s degree and Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in 1970 and 1972, respectively.

Dr. Yeh went on to author 35 patents for various chemical products, in addition to a number of scientific papers.

He enjoyed gardening, making wine, home brewing and caring for his beloved cat, Polymer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Dr. Yeh to the Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.

Geraldine K. Harvell

Geraldine Kornegay Harvell, 82, lifelong resident of the Beautancus community, Mount Olive, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 4, 2018, at the Brian Center in Goldsboro after several years of declining health.

Mrs. Harvell is survived by her husband, George I. Harvell of the home; six children, George William Harvell and wife, Sherri Dee, of Mount Olive, Donna H. Fischer and husband, Bill, of Four Oaks, Linda Lou H. Davis and husband, Johnny, of Mount Olive, Christine H. Lopp of Thomasville, Tracy Lynn H. Winders and husband, Jerry, and Teresa Harvell and spouse, Chachi Torres, all of Mount Olive; a grandson raised as a son, James Harvell and wife, Alexis, of Seven Springs; 11 other grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Scott Kornegay and Dennis Kornegay both of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Demetrius Harvell; an infant son, Travis Harvell; her parents, Isaac and Virginia McArthur Kornegay; a sister, Jane K. Mandeville; and two brothers, Charlie Mac Kornegay and Isaac “Bubba” Kornegay.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Scott and Rachel Kornegay, and Friday, Dec. 7, it will be at Tyndall Funeral Home from 1 to 2:30 p.m., with graveside rites following at 3 p.m. in Pate Cemetery.

Raymond Wallace Perry, 84, LaGrange, died Tuesday.

Funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

He was born May 11, 1934, in Lenoir County to the late Henry Franklin and Mattie Hinnant Perry. He was married to the late Iris Hill Perry.

He is survived by two children.

Harriet “Coco” Mills, 41, 300 Glen Falls Lane, Durham, died Sunday at Duke HomeCare and Hospice.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at United American Free Will Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will be in Mills Memorial Gardens, Kinston.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. The family will assemble at 409 E. Lenoir Ave., Kinston, for the funeral procession.

Steven Glen Edmundson, 68, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Seth Raymond Edmundson and the late Rachel Mozzel Wiley Edmundson. He was married to Susan Edmundson.

He is survived by two sons, a daughter, a stepson and three stepdaughters.

Visitation will follow the funeral.

Eddie Kornegay Jr., 73, Washington, D.C., formerly of Goldsboro, died Nov. 16 at home.
