Jackie Carson Holmes, 62, Pink Hill area resident, died Sunday, Dec. 16, at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

Funeral is Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with visitation following. Officiating, the Rev. Don Craft and the Rev. Scott Kennedy. Burial is Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m., Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Pink Hill.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Kay Wilson Holmes; a son, Jonathan Carson Holmes and wife, Laura; two grandchildren, Stella and Jett Holmes, all of Rocky Point; two sisters, Gerlene H. Kennedy, of Wallace, and Marie H. Holmes, of Albertson; and “his girl,” Daisy, a prized Yorkie.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Bertha “Tom” Holmes; a sister, Gloria H. Griffin; and a brother, Joseph Ray Holmes.

He had worked in construction on various projects, and mostly had been on site at the Kinston DuPont plant.

Barbara Crumpler Frazier

Barbara Crumpler Frazier, 77, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at Sutton’s Retirement Home. Barbara was born in Wayne County on April 9, 1941, to the late Herman and Ruby Jackson Crumpler. She was married to the late James Frazier.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Crumpler Family Cemetery on Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Brad Crumpler officiating.

Barbara is survived by her brothers, James Crumpler, of Goldsboro, and Herman Crumpler, of Goldsboro. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Hampton Crumpler.

Mary Esther Baker Plue, 72, of Dudley, passed away on Saturday at the Brian Center. She was the daughter of the late Ray and Edna Earl Baker, and the widow of Robert Plue. Mrs. Plue was a homemaker.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Plue is survived by a brother, Delton Ray Baker, of Florence, S.C.; an aunt, Adell Baker, of Calypso; a nephew, Dell Baker, of Florence, S.C.; a niece, Pam Lewis, of Mississippi; and her friends who deliver Meals on Wheels.
