Agnes was one of nine children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Vann; one son, Gary E. Vann; and seven brothers and sisters.

Agnes faced each and every day with positivity and resolve.

She was raised in Duplin County, but moved to Goldsboro at the age of 25, where she lived almost all of her adult life.

Agnes found so much enjoyment working with her coworkers and meeting, socializing and helping her customers. Unlike most people, Agnes truly loved the career she chose and spent 63 1/2 years helping and serving others.

As much as Agnes loved her job, she loved her family and friends much more. She was totally devoted and dearly loved her children and all of her grandchildren.

All of her grandchildren, (great-grandchildren included), say, “Grandma, we love you and will miss you so much.”

Her daughter says, “Mama, I love you with all my heart, and you will be with me always. You rest with the Lord and his angels now. You deserve it.”

Ms. Vann is survived by one daughter, Kay V. Ferrell and husband, Donnie, of Garner, N.C., and sister, Elizabeth H. Worrell of Mount Olive.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Dana Batey Etheridge and husband, Mark, of Clayton, Ashleigh Ferrell Duty and husband, Chris, of Garner, Sherry Vann of Goldsboro and Travis Vann of Goldsboro.

The service will begin directly at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Directly thereafter, burial will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.
