Mr. Willie Gray Harris, 86, Snow Hill, passed away late Friday evening, Feb. 1, 2019, at his home following a courageous and extended battle with cancer.

Born March 18, 1932, he was the son of Thad and Betty McLawhorn Harris.

Always one with an outgoing personality and love of people, those attributes served him well through his career as a life insurance agent and also as a sales representative for Gatorade, a job that he particularly enjoyed.

A Christian, Mr. Harris possessed a strong and unwavering faith in God and served his Lord daily. A member of Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church, he had served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon and chairman of the church board, and on various other committees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Davey G. Harris, July 26, 2015.

His surviving family includes his wife of 64 years, Geraldine Moore Harris; daughter, Becky Harris Dunn (James) of Goldsboro; son, Willie G. Harris Jr. of Snow Hill; daughter-in-law, Debra Harris of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Andrea Burnette (Stephen), Nicole Cummins (Kendell), Amber Harris, Kristi Dunn, Joel Dunn (Megan), Ashley Holloman (John) and Lindsey Roughgarden (Graham); 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Turnage (Roy) of Goldsboro and Joyce Vick of Farmville.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leon Grubbs officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Farmville.

The family received friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill and other times at the Harris residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church, Foreign Missions, 3984 Hull Road, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580.

Clarence Robinson, 88, 3310 Wayne Memorial Drive, died Wednesday at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Funeral will be noon today at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with pastor Joe A. Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Emporia, Va., to Russell and Bertha Atkinson Robinson. He was married to Lila Pearl Robinson.

He is survived by two sons.
