Peggy Davis Mooring, 82, of Middlesex, passed away Saturday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Phil Hawley and Rev. Jeff Dail will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home of her son, Kevin.

Peggy was an awesome mom, pastor’s wife, grandma, prayer warrior, aunt and a friend to all who knew her. Her family was her life.

Peggy is survived by her sons, the Rev. Kevin Mooring and wife, Amy of Pikeville, and Frank Mooring and wife, Gaby of Mexico; grandchildren, Tracey Haynes and husband, Brian, Caleb Mooring, Camden Mooring, Andrea Castro Castañeda and Alejandra Castro Castañeda; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Haynes and Emma Haynes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Elmer R. Mooring; parents, Frank Rgo and Gertrude Minshew Davis; and her siblings, Lois Norman, Hazel Waddell, Lawton Davis, Norwood Davis and Thurman Davis.

GRANTHAM – Edna Earle Bryan Grantham, 89, passed away on Sunday morning at Wayne UNC Health Care surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Grantham was born in Wayne County to the late Lisker and Maude Creel Bryan. She was married to the late Robert E. Grantham Sr., who was a longtime farmer in the Grantham Community.

Mrs. Grantham was the rock of her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.

She was a member of Selah Christian Church. Mrs. Grantham also enjoyed yard work and gardening, as was always reflected in her beautiful yard.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. Interment will be at the family farm in the Grantham Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Grantham is survived by her son, Robert E. “Bud” Grantham Jr. and wife, Angie of Goldsboro; daughters, Mary Lynn Chase of LaGrange and Rose Zibelin of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Emily Zibelin, Chris Zibelin, Matthew Chase (Laura), Melissa Chase Peterson (Pehr), Kaysey Grantham Jackson (Sebastian) and Robert E. “Bo” Grantham III; and great-grandchildren, Odyn Peterson, Gunnar Peterson, Soren Peterson, Signe Peterson, Brody Chase, Bryn Chase and Cason Jackson. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Sullivan and Maxine Lipscomb.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Brown and Carol Bryan.

Johnny Alan Grady

Johnny Alan Grady, 62, of the Beautancus area, Mount Olive, passed away Saturday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Johnny was employed as a supervisor with Georgia-Pacific Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Westbrook Padgett, of the home; a daughter, Crystal Grady Strickland and husband, Chuck, of Kenansville; a granddaughter, Maddy Strickland of Kenansville; a sister, Frances Grady Arnette of Rose Hill; a brother, Benjamin Franklin Grady Jr. and wife, Margie, of Kinston; several nieces and nephews; and his four-legged “son,” Lucas.

Loved ones preceding him in death include his parents, Benjamin Franklin Grady Sr. and Ruth Kennedy Grady; a brother, James Otis Grady; and a brother-in-law, Hubert Arnette.

Johnny’s life will be remembered in a service to be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at noon at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, led by the Rev. David “Buck” Grady, with burial following at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour before the service. At other times, friends may call at the homes of Judy W. Padgett and Crystal Strickland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faison Baptist Men’s Brotherhood, P.O. Box 280, Faison, N.C. 28341, to assist with their wheelchair ramp ministry.
