Lorene M. Sloan

Lorene Mae Newsome Sloan, 94, was born in Mercer, W.Va., to the late Jasper and Minnie Newsome, and was the wife of the late John Reason Sloan.
She was retired from Colonial Grocery Store, where she worked in the meat department.
A graveside service will be held in Wayne Memorial Park Friday at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Sloan is survived by her sons, John and Jack Sloan of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a son-in-law, John Sexstella of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Sloan, Alesha Miller, Amber Lynn Sloan, Brian Sloan and wife, Trina, Daniel Sloan and wife, Brie, Amy Sloan and husband, Doug Dean, Ashley Bean and husband, Chris, Michael Sexstella and wife, Natalie, and Anthony Sexstella and wife, Christina; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Sloan, Dylan and Taylor Miller, Amber Rose McCall, T.J. and Jonathan Hembree, Nathan and Abigail Sloan, Damien Sloan-Herrera, Madison Bean and Michael Sexstella.

Joyce E. “Ma” Stephenson Hare, 68, Goldsboro, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Born July 6, 1950, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Glefus Cevaston and Cornelia Mae Eason Stephenson, and was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby E. Hare.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday just prior to the service.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are daughters, Angela “Angie” Hare Bragg and husband, Allen, of Goldsboro and Cindy Hare Davenport and husband, Chad, of Princeton; brother, William Kenyon and wife, Tammy, of Princeton; sister, Teresa Massey and husband, Jimmy, of Selma; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Christine Price Duclos, 94, died at home in Texas Saturday.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs, with Gabe Mitchell officiating.
She was born in Wayne County July 19, 1924, to the late Wesley and Mildred Smith Price. She was married to the late Henry L. Duclos.
She is survived by a daughter.

Phillip Randolph Teachey, 65, Rose Hill, died Sunday at home.
Funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home chapel, Rose Hill, with the Rev. Gregory Carr officiating. Interment will be at the funeral home cemetery, Magnolia.
He is survived by a son and two daughters.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
