Randolph Scott Williams, 51, Pikeville, passed away suddenly Friday at his home.

Randy was born in Wayne County on July 22, 1967, to Judy Whitley Williams and the late James A. Williams. For years, Randy worked as an electrician in many homes and businesses. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed being out in nature, spending time at the beach fishing or duck hunting.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bethel Church, 2308 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; a service to celebrate his life will follow at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, with Rev. Barry Ginn officiating.

In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by his loving wife, Rachelle Kincannon Williams; children, Michael Robert Reel III (Trey) and his friend, Jesse Wheeler, Taylor Scott Williams and wife, Lauren, R.J. Williams, and Anthony Curatolo; sister, Amanda Newcomb and husband, Clint, whom he considered to be a brother, Marsha Williams, and Makayla Williams; grandson, Cohen G. Williams; nephews, Shane Lozier and wife, Lesli, Christopher Sauls, and Cam Newcomb; special friends, Mickey Davis and wife, Cindy, Jenna Best and husband, Michael, Joe Bell, Chip Everett, and Brandon Howell, and many extended family and friends.

Albert Nelson “Al” Justice, 80, Newport, went to be with his Lord on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Al was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, on May 29, 1938, to the late Kerry and Violet Justice and was raised in Richmond, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church in Morehead City, followed by a service to celebrate Al’s life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary with the Rev. Tim Marriner and the Rev. Jeff Pickett officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, at 1 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Al is survived by his wife of seven years, Debbie Forehand Ross; children, Linda Rogari and Craig Justice and wife, DeeDee; grandchildren, Tessa Rogari, Courtney Justice and Cole Justice; stepdaughters, Amy Brousard and Emily Lanier and husband, Rodney, and their children he loved as his grandchildren, Brandon Kearney, Erin Brousard, Shannon Brousard, Jackson Lanier, Gracen Lanier and Addison Lanier and great-granddaughter, Lyla Kearney; and mother-in-law, Almeta Forehand.

Mrs. Emma Vernell Rouse Kearney, 86, LaGrange, died Saturday morning, Jan. 26, 2019, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family. A native of Greene County, she was born Feb. 9, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Emma Lee Taylor Rouse. As many of her generation, Vernell was a consummate homemaker and farmer’s wife that never paused to tackle any task or chore that needed to be done. A lady of strong Christian faith, her Lord, family, and role as wife and mother were paramount priorities. Mrs. Kearney was a member of Free Gospel PFWB Church where she faithfully attended until declining health forced her into a skilled care setting.

In addition to her parents and all of her siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Lloyd Wayne Kearney on July 23, 1999.

Her surviving family includes three children, Barbara Kearney Smith and husband, Alan, of Snow Hill, Larry Kearney and wife, Brenda, of Snow Hill, and Kevin Kearney and wife, Michelle, of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Brandi Bielby, Amy K. Tripp and husband, Richard, Brock Kearney and wife, Baillie, and Alex Smith, all of Snow Hill, Nicholas Kearney and Anna Kearney, both of LaGrange; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Bielby, Isabella Bielby, Wayne Tripp and Daniel Tripp.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Free Gospel PFWB Church with Pastor Michael Parks officiating. Committal services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Snow Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday following the service and other times at the home of Kevin and Michelle Kearney, 7568 Hwy. 13 S., LaGrange, N.C. Judy Mooring Jones, 74, Goldsboro, passed away on Saturday at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington. A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Lee Mooring and Maggie Wethington Mooring. She was married to the late Albert Leo Jones who preceded her in death on June 28, 2009. Judy worked for many years in the cafeteria at Brogden Primary School. She always enjoyed crocheting and many of the items she would share with others.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, from 11 a.m. to noon at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Judy’s life at noon in the chapel. Interment will be in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Judy is survived by her son, Albert L. Jones Jr. and wife, Margo, of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Adam T. Jones, Jacob B. Jones, and Olivia L. Cusumano. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Mooring Hill and husband, Burnice Hill, and Peggy Mooring Jones; and sister-in-law, Doris Smith Mooring. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Gail Jones; sisters, Bobbie Lucille Mooring, Sadie Mooring Wortham, Margie Mooring Jones, and brothers, Ralph James Mooring and Ray Benton Mooring.

Willis “The Toolman” Ray Pate, 71, died Friday.

He was born Dec. 3, 1947, in Duplin County to the late Clarence and Louise Best Pate. He was married to Sharon Honeycutt Pate.
