Ms. Patsy Kearney Newcomb, 67, Snow Hill, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 9, 2019, while enjoying her morning walk.

A native of Greene County, she was born June 4, 1952, the daughter of James David “Reuben” Kearney and Mary “Lady” Edmundson Kearney.

Patsy relished her retirement, and often spoke of how much she enjoyed it. She had retired from TYM Tractor in Wilson, and had also worked many years with Cooper Bussmann.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Patsy enjoyed time spent with her family.

Her beautiful smile and unique giggle will always be trademarks for which she is remembered.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by a brother, Reuben Earl “Buddy” Kearney, and her dear sister, Faye Kearney Wade.

Surviving are her daughters, Christy Moore Carter and husband, Tommy, of Snow Hill and Tiffany Moore Harrison and husband, Chad, of Spring Hill, Tenn., and her grandchildren, Candice C. Byrd and husband, Michael, of Jacksonville, Zoe Carter and Cody Carter both of Snow Hill, Kaiden Brassard and Mena Brassard both of Spring Hill, Tenn., Nicholas Harrison of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Mycaela Harrison of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at Ms. Newcomb’s residence.

Funeral services will be held graveside 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Snow Hill Cemetery, with pastor Kenny Wayne Smith officiating.

Trellie Brown Herring, LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

Trellie was born in Wayne County Oct. 20, 1955, to the late Charles and Annie Overman Brown.

She was married for 43 years to Elton Eugene Herring, who passed away April 17, 2019.

Trellie was a member of Hood Swamp Friends Church.

One who always enjoyed a good book, Trellie worked in the bookstore at Wayne Community College, as well as Waldenbooks during its 27 years in business.

Trellie loved working in her yard tending to her many plants and flowers.

She loved animals, and enjoyed the various animals that visited her yard, especially the beautiful hummingbirds.

Most important to Trellie was her family; she was proud of them all, especially her grandchildren.

The family will greet friends Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Trellie’s life at 4 p.m. in the chapel, with Cheryl Benson officiating.

Trellie is survived by her daughters, McKenzie Lee and husband, Jerry, of Goldsboro and Gina Carol Herring of Goldsboro; sisters, Sherry Minner of Goldsboro, Brenda Williams of New Bern, Luz Friede and husband, Tommy, of Goldsboro and Lezlie Brown of Goldsboro; brother, Brant Brown of Mount Olive; and the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Madelyn Lee and Savannah Lee.

She is also survived by a large extended family that includes several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

Toni Marie Fleck Renfrow, 64, Kenly, died Monday at Johnston UNC Healthcare.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church, followed by funeral at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jasper Renfrow officiating.

Born in Wilson County Oct. 29, 1954, she was the daughter of Myrtle Lee Watkins Fleck and the late William C. Fleck Jr.

He was born July 4, 1962, in Charleston, S.C., to Julius Green and Elizabeth Ancrum.

Linda Faye Brown, 73, 305B Windsor Creek Parkway, died Wednesday at home.

Funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

She was born April 13, 1946, in Wayne County to Elbert and Essie Hall Uzzell. She was married to Larry Brown.

She is survived by six children.

Visitation will be Monday 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, where it will assemble for the funeral.

He is survived by two daughters and four sons.
