Ralph L. Ginn

Evangelist Ralph L. “Mousey” Ginn, 75, of Goldsboro, went to his heavenly home Monday, June 24, 2019, at his home.
Homegoing services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 4 p.m. at Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church at Shines Crossroads. Interment will follow at Hill Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
Evangelist Ginn was born in Wayne County on Sept. 19, 1943, to the late Henry Lee and Ruby Ham Ginn. He was a farmer by trade all of his life and also worked for the Department of Correction where he was a correctional sergeant. Evangelist Ginn not only served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, he was the Lord’s servant serving as pastor of area Pentecostal Free Will Baptist churches. For over 40 years, he served as host of “Signs of the Times” on WHFL-TV in Goldsboro. He loved music, as he was a musician, prophet and evangelist preaching and singing the gospel about his Savior. He always would say, “Get right with God and God will get right with you” and “If you ain’t saved you need to get saved,” Amen!
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Daugherty Ginn; two daughters, Miriam Elizabeth Ginn of Goldsboro and evangelist Cindy Leigh Garris and husband, Billy Ray of Black Creek; two stepsons, Roger Hill of Goldsboro and Jeffrey Smith of Pikeville; one sister, Connie Ginn Brown and husband, Scott Alan Brown of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren, Danielle Cross, Jeffrey Smith II (Kendra), Eric Bartlett, Lori Rae Lane and Nicholas Smith.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
Larry R. Smith

Larry Randal Smith, 71, of Charleston, S.C., passed away peacefully Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 610 Mount Carmel Church Road, Pikeville, N.C. The Revs. Charles L. Taylor and Liz Hounshell will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
He is survived by his daughters, Christy Smith Benton and husband, Craig of Pikeville, Jessica Jordan Smith of Florence, S.C., and a stepdaughter, Ramona Lynn Leviner of Florence, S.C.; stepson, Ronnie Leviner and wife, Ronni of Summerville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was a native of Florence County, S.C. He was a retired Master Barber and recently retired from Thomas Barber Shop in Mount Pleasant, S.C. He loved his church, Charleston Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Smith; daughter, Pamela Renee Smith; and by his parents, Idell Delphia Smith and Cleo Leonard Smith.

James Earl Swinson
James “Jimmy” Earl Swinson, 72, of Goldsboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 21, 2019, at his home.
Homegoing services will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, at noon at First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris St. in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Swinson Family Cemetery.
Mr. Swinson was born in Wayne County to Sadie Coley Swinson of Raleigh and the late Robert L. Swinson “Papa Bob.”
In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Nadine Reynolds Swinson; one daughter, Avetta “Cookie” Swinson of Raleigh; his stepson, John Fant of Maryland; his brother, Reginald Swinson and wife, Terrie of LaGrange; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 4 until 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of his brother and sister-in-law’s home in LaGrange, Reginald and Terrie Swinson.

Roger Henry Crouell, 80, of 790 Ten Mile Fork Road, Trenton, died Saturday at Brook Stone Senior Living in Pollocksville.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Kings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Trenton. Burial will be in Haiti Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home.

Patti B. Marriner, 81, of Kirkwood Retirement, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
Mrs. Marriner was born in Robeson County on Aug. 30, 1937, to the late Linua and Viola Bass Barnhill. She was married to the late Louis E. Marriner Jr.
She is survived by two children.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.

Dorethea Chrisp, 55, of 500 N. Ryals St., Apt. 18-B, Benson, died Sunday in Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cape Fear Conference Center Headquarters, Erwin.
She was born July 4, 1963, in Harnett County to Calvin Chrisp and Patricia Ruffin.
She is survived by five children.

Billy Robinson, 54, 512 E. Holly St., died Sunday in Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 10, 1965, in Wayne County to Ralph and Hattie Miles Robinson.
He is survived by nine children.
Visitation will be Saturday at Haskins Funeral Home one hour prior to the funeral service.
