Judy Walker Britt

Aug. 1, 1944-June 4, 2019

June 4, 2019, Judy Britt left this world to enter into a place of eternal peace. She passed away at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Judy was born in Sampson County Aug. 1, 1944, to the late James D. Walker Jr. and Sally Walker Johnson.

She was a caring and kind soul, who always put the needs of others ahead of her own.

Judy enjoyed a career at Sears as a customer service credit manager.

She went on to work with Lens Crafters here in Goldsboro, where she made numerous friends with her customers during her tenure there.

She retired to aid and assist her son, Michael, with his battle with health issues related to juvenile diabetes.

Judy enjoyed her cats, Pete and Ralph, which gave her companionship.

Due to her own declining health, she entered into the care of Pines (Brookdale) of Goldsboro for the last several years before relocating to the Brian Center of Goldsboro.

Thank you to all who have visited and sent cards to Judy to help brighten her days.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Frank Purvis.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Olivia and Colin Lowry of Raleigh; grandson, Jameson Lowry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Patricia Walker of Goldsboro, Don and Nan Walker of Puyallup, Wash., and Steve and Nancy Walker of Goldsboro; nieces and nephews, Jamie Walker, David Walker, Tiffany Walker, Austin Walker and Ashton Walker; and great-niece, Hannah Walker Garris.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael E. Britt Jr., and nephew, Patrick B. Walker.

The family would like to extend our thanks to the staff Brookdale and the Brian Center for the love and care they provided Judy.

We would also like to thank Wayne UNC Health Care for its compassionate care.

Judy’s final time on this earth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Judy’s memory to Juvenile Diabetes Association, 26 Broadway, 14th floor, New York, N.Y., 10004.
