Aaron Lee Blanchard passed away in his sleep Monday morning at his parents’ home.

Aaron was employed with Payday Pawn on East Ash Street, Goldsboro, N.C. He had previously worked with Jade’s in the mall and at Fuji’s Steakhouse in Goldsboro.

Aaron went to Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College.

Aaron and his brother, Cameron, resided with their grandparents, Gene and Nancy Baker at 4783 U.S. 70 East near Elroy Fire Department.

His mother and father, Lee and Joey, and brother, Joshua, live in Pikeville.

Aaron was a very likable young man, and had many friends.

Growing up, he played basketball and football with his friends.

He also went to Vacation Bible School at Stoney Creek Church.

He also loved to fish and hang out with his friends.

He will surely be missed by his family and friends.

He was also survived by his grandparents on his father’s side, Joseph and Sue Blanchard of Bridgeport, Conn.

Other family members include Stewart, Dillion and Hollie Baker, Larry and Tina McLamb, Tony Blanchard and Pebbles, Cody, Vinny and Ursula Brown.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, beginning at 4 p.m., and a service celebrating his life will be at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Gene and Nancy Baker.

Vernon Ray Kepley, 85, husband, father, United States airman and friend to all, got his golden wings Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Wayne UNC Health Care surrounded by his family.

Vernon was born in Salisbury, N.C., Sept. 11, 1933, to the late John Henry Kepley and Virginia Trexler Kepler.

He joined the United States Air Force in 1952.

After a 20 year stint with the Air Force, Vernon retired in Goldsboro.

Vernon worked at AP Parts for 20 more years.

During all those years, he developed a love for golf, yardwork, barbecuing and following his sons’ sports teams.

Vernon was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be missed by all.

A service to celebrate Vernon’s life will be Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 1 p.m. in Seymour Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Pat Kilby officiating. Military honors will follow the service.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Millie Chandler Kepley; sons, David Kepley and wife, Lillianne, of Wilmington, N.C., and Danny Kepley of Goldsboro; and grandson, Michael Kepley.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Mary “May” Elizabeth Faison, 87, 305 W. Kornegay St., Mount Olive, died Thursday at home.

Funeral will be noon Thursday at Payne Temple AME Zion Church, with pastor Manwell Faison officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park South.

She was the daughter of the late Margaret Faison Lofton and John Manley.

Three children survive.

Visitation will be 3 to 6 tonight at Garris Funeral Home chapel.

Scott Allen Farmer, 48, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019.

Scott is survived by his father, Donnie Farmer and wife, Sheila; mother, Ann Turner and husband, Clyde; daughter, Brooke Martin; sister, Steffanie Schwartz; brother, Jason Farmer; stepsisters, Wendy Weaver and Marla Shearin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 9, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his father.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 10, 2019, at 3 p.m. at the Old St. Mary Catholic Church in downtown Goldsboro. Interment will be immediately following in Salem Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Old St. Mary Catholic Church, P.O. Box 595, Goldsboro, N.C., 27532.

Vice Bishop Michael A. Whitfield, 66, 1207 Virginia Ave., Kinston, died Friday at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

He was married to Doris Whitfield.

Roger Edwards Belch, 79, Virginia Beach, Va., died Monday at Heritage Hall.

He was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Colerain to Zeddic Albert and Ida Lee Edwards Belch.

He is survived by three daughters.
