Mother Geraldine Pitt Cooper, 86, of 200 Ryan Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., passed from labor to reward Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 25, 1932, in Wayne County to Forrest Frederick and Victor A. Pitt.

Her life’s devotion, service to God and mankind will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Stoney Hill United Holy Church with Elder Howard E. McNair officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Wayne Memorial Park.

Mother Geraldine Cooper leaves a legacy of love for her devoted, loving husband of 64 years, Deacon James M. Cooper; two daughters, JoAnn (Joseph) Nichols and Constance D. Cooper McDonald; three sons, Victor (Patty) Cooper, Anthony Wayne (Marie) Cooper and Kenneth De’Marco Cooper, all of Colorado; a goddaughter, Sheana Janice Harper, of Bossier City, La.; five sisters, Annie Bright, of Holly Springs, N.C., Helen Frederick Wilson, of Camp Springs, Md., Betty Jean Frederick and Pearline Frederick, both of Enfield, N.C., and Bernice Frederick, of New York; two brothers, Bobby (Lynn) Frederick, of Tennessee, and Elarka Kama Rafi, of Raleigh, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.

Mother Cooper will lie in repose Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Haskins Funeral Home. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.

FUQUAY-VARINA – Agnes Partin Pollard, 91, ended her life’s journey on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018. She was born to the late Carlton and Myrtice Matthews Partin on Nov. 1, 1927, in Willow Springs, N.C. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N. Ennis St., Fuquay-Varina.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. 117, Dudley, NC 28333.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bud” Pollard; her brother, C.D. Partin Jr; and her sons, Steve Pollard and Randy Pollard.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Hall (Auburn), of Raleigh; grandson, Tyler Hall (Shannon), of Greensboro; granddaughter, Jamie Pollard, of Cary; and great-granddaughters, Camden and Addyson Hall. She is also survived by her honorary grandson, Brian Barham, and her special roommate for the last three years, Hortense Parker.

Agnes was a strong Christian woman who taught many children youth and young adults through the years. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, gardening and cooking for her family as well as sharing that food with others.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Universal Healthcare of Fuquay-Varina for their care in her years of declining health, and Transitions LifeCare for their loving care in the final days of her journey.

She was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Johnston County to Bennie Ree and Laura Etta Eason Creech. She was married to Lester Guy Langston.
