Rodney Manuel Carvalho, 75, passed away July 15, 2022, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston, N.C.
Born in Haina, Hawaii, Dec. 19, 1946, he was the son to the late Manuel S. Carvalho and Mary Silva-Barboza Carvalho.
Rodney lived a full and meaningful life.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam.
He also had a long and successful career in the tire business.
More importantly he was a devoted husband, father and grandpa.
He enjoyed mangoes with shoyu, rice at any meal and Big Hunk candy bars, but his greatest joy was found in spending time with his family.
Loved ones who will miss Rodney until they meet again are his wife, Ginger Overcash Carvalho; his daughter, Kimberly Carvalho; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Carvalho Mignone and James Mignone Jr.; his grandchildren, Mason Mignone and Myles Mignone; his mother-in-law, Emma Overcash; his brother in-law and his wife, Jack and Anna Overcash Jr.; his nephew, Christopher Overcash; his niece, Kayla Overcash; and many other loving friends and family.
Loved ones who have preceded Rodney in death include his father, Manuel S. Carvalho; his mother, Mary Silva-Barboza Carvalho; his brother, George Carvalho; his sister, Blanche Poomaihealani; and his father in-law, Jack Overcash Sr.
A service will be held for friends and family to honor and remember Rodney (Rod, dad, grandpa, Mr. Rodney) Aug. 6, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Goldsboro.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
