Newspapers in Education (NIE) is a joint effort between newspapers and schools to promote the use of the newspapers as an educational resource in the classroom. Using the newspaper helps teachers bring real world application to the subjects they teach. Area businesses, civic organizations and private donors, provide sponsorship dollars toward NIE programs so that teachers may use the newspaper as a dynamic and informative teaching tool. The NIE program supports 1-12 grade level education in area schools by providing newspapers to educators and students, free of charge to the school and funded strictly by contributions by individuals and businesses.
Your generous contributions make the Goldsboro News-Argus’ News in Education program possible. Check out the many ways you can support NIE and provide the Goldsboro News-Argus to area school classrooms!
