WINTERVILLE — Dillon Borel notched the game-winning goal as Charles B. Aycock defeated South Central, 4-3, in a penalty-kick shootout on Monday evening.

The teams ended regulation and overtime deadlocked at 2-2.

Aycock built a 2-0 halftime lead on the strength of goals from Zach Naughton and Coe Jordan. Borel assisted both scores.

South Central answered with two goals in the second 40 minutes, and just missed getting the game-winner — a PK stopped by Skyler Landers in the 60th minute. Landers ended the night with 10 saves between the pipes.

The Golden Falcons (10-7-2 overall) won their second consecutive Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference match in shootout fashion. They defeated D.H. Conley last week after the teams battled through regulation and OT knotted at 1-1.

Aycock (5-6 ECC) concludes regular-season play at home Wednesday against Southern Wayne. The teams needed overtime to decide their first meeting, won by the Golden Falcons in Dudley.
