Goldsboro outscored St. Pauls 23-6 in the first quarter as the Cougars ran past the Bulldogs 93-52 in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A playoffs.
The Cougar advanced to the third round for the third time in four years. No. 2 Goldsboro will host No. 10 Franklin Academy (19-10) in the third round on Saturday.

Wilson Prep 59, Rosewood 42
Down 12-2 at the start of the second quarter, Rosewood did everything it could to come back and win the game, but ultimately, the Eagles fell 59-42 to the Tigers in the second round of the NCHSAA 1A playoffs.
Rosewood ends the season with a 15-10 overall record. The Eagles also won the Carolina 1A Conference tournament this season.

The Warriors put up a good fight but fell to Seaforth 48-24 in the second round of the NCHSAA 2A playoffs. Eastern Wayne finishes the season with a 19-8 overall record.
Cape Fear 75, Southern Wayne 49
In the second round of the NCHSAA 3A playoffs for the second year in a row, the Saints faced off against Cape Fear.
Down 16-14 at the end of the first quarter, the Saints battled back but could not catch up to Cape Fear, which won the game 75-49.
Southern Wayne ends the season with a 20-8 overall record and as Quad County 3A Conference tournament champions.
